Rohit Sharma scored 26 in a healthy stand with Cheteshwar Pujara before falling off the penultimate ball of the morning session.

Cheteshwar Pujara led India's fightback with a restrained innings.

Dhammika Prasad struck off successive deliveries either side of the lunch break to dismiss Rohit Sharma and Stuart Binny.

Amit Mishra gave Pujara excellent support with the former bringing up his third Test fifty.

The eighth-wicket pair put on a century stand before Mishra was stumped off Rangana Herath.

Despite the dismissals, Pujara continued solidly as he registered a fine ton in his first Test in 2015.
